I installed an 8 volt battery in my IH "M" to help it start better. The 6 volt just barely would turn it over when it got hot or excessively cold. I bought the battery at Tractor Supply Co. store, adjusted the voltage regulator to output 9.2 volts and haven't had a problem. Pull with it often. Deltran in Deland, Florida makes an 8 volt battery charger called the "Battery tender", works great has an electronic circuit that allows you to leave it on the battery as long as you want.Automatically shuts of when fully charged will not cook battery like some trickle chargers.Certainly lot less expensive and takes 15 minutes to install a battery and adjust the regulator. Try converting to 12 volts cheaper and quicker than that......
