The heater i like best, is the one that goes inside the block, replaceing the freeze plug. They use the least electricity, put the heat where it's needed, and last the longest. They do take a little longer to heat the water, as they are a smaller unit than the others.
When i lived in Alaska it was easily the heater of choise!
