Nope. My neighbors dairy, freestall buildings, no heat. He froze 2 of them, that was while they were in the unsheltered holding pen between the freestall barn & the milk parlor. he put up a tin shell for them to wait in, and no more problems. You keep them dry, & you keep drafts & wind away, and they do fine. The only thing heated is the milking parlor, and that's for the guy in the pit, and so you can hose it down without freezing! :) My beef cows are allowed to go in a barn pen through a plastic flap door. They spend a couple of hours inside on cold days, but much prefer being outside most of the time, even when it was 19 below 2 days ago. However, a south wind (hits the cow yard direct) and they all crowd in the pen all day long even if it is 25 for a temp... Keep them dry, keep them out of the wind. Also, let them build up to it. If you kept some inside all the time & warm, they couldn't handle being turned out into the cold. They need to build up to it. --->Paul

The front end center pin bushing was worn also so I ask that they replace it if they had time. Well, that’s wha
