converted to a 12v about 2yrs ago and it ran fine with a very weak battery since. I put a new battery in it and it drove the drive unit gear thru the tin ?dust cover? behind the gear. Put a new drive unit in and had the same results, put a new starter on and the same thing. could it be the new battery is kicking the starter out so hard thats the problem? When i did the conversion i downloaded the instructions from tractor talk and it listed a delco 12v starter but i cant find it now. blamed the wife of course. Any suggestions
