Most of the class 8 trucks and trailers are switching over to the red synthetic grease in the steer and trailer hubs. It works great, and definately cuts down on maintenance as far as leaks are concerned. It isn't real cheap...not sure if you can buy it in small quantities or not.
I've seen it in 5 gallon buckets.
