It all depends on how much you want to spend and how steep your terrain is. If your budget is between 1500 and 3500 dollars a 400 or 450 Farmall is tough to beat. It has enough size weight and power to farm up to 80 acres comfortably, is a great winter starter and can pull a 3 bottom plow, has live hydraulics and pto and you can find it with a 3 point if you shop hard enough or add it on. Look for a model with 3 hydraulic levers instead of the normal 2. Most compact tractors are simply a joke if you want to do any real work due to a lack of size and weight. Wheel diameter and weight are your best friends when doing real work.
