trailer dove tail angle

I'm building a dove tail on my trailer, is there a general degree of angle to put on it, or do you just do what looks good. Would like to know what angle to cut my h beam.Trailer is 38 inches high, and would like to put 5 ft. dove and 5 ft. ramps, but it has to work out right to be in a straight line when folded out. Don't want to get to steep, seen a fellow almost turn one over trying to climb up to steep. Any ideas is appreciated, ken.
