Ask your selves this question; How come a heavy duty pick-up only gets 10 miles per gallon , give or take a few miles. I'm going to guess the pick-up weighs 5,000 pounds. I'm talking about an empty pick-up. Now , a tractor/trailer truck loaded (lets say 100,000 pounds for round figures) gets 4 to 5 miles to the gallon. Think about it. The pick-up is 95,000 pounds lighter , but only gets 5 more miles to the gallon , if that. I know someone with a new chevy heavy duty. While pulling his goosneck trailer , was getting les than 10 miles per gallon. I think he said 6 miles to the gallon. He has the big gas engine.
