I was suprised at the report on the news of the new 16 cyl cadilac that developes 1000 ponies and hits 20mpg. It made me wonder why my pickup with half the cyl and 1/3 the hp has to be driven like a granny coasting down hill to get close to 15mpg. Also my understanding of the gas milage requirements on automakers by the epa is an average of the entire fleet, so avg. the 40mpg saturn and the 12mpg pickup and pass the test.
