I can't answer your question directly, but want to comment on corporate handling of problems. In 1947 a Firestone tire blew out on Dad's 1946 Pontiac and split the seam of the fender. Firestone refused to have the fender repaired - end result was that our entire family has not purchased a Firestone product in 55 years. We got a contaminated barrel of oil from Standard Oil in 1950 that had a lot of fibers suspended in the oil. The first oil change out of the barrel plugged the oil intake screen and ruined the engine on our DC Case. Two different company officials came out, confirmed the fibers in the oil, but corporate refused to pay for repairs. Our repair shop put the pistons and bearings on display along with a jar of the contaminated oil. The local Standard Oil agent lost so much business that he had to quit and our family never purchased anything from Standard Oil after that (52 years). When I doubled as Service Manager for an equipment manufacturer, I made sure that I was fair to the customer, sometimes to the point of excess - and in the long run it was very, very good for the company. If the lower level employees turn down warranty, go to the sales dept, then up to the top if you have to. If you don't get satifaction, make sure everyone knows about it and stops doing business with that company - forever!
