In N. Indiana I pay $25/acre to have hay cut and raked. Then I pay $.50 per bale for baling. The fixed cost of cut/rake remains the same so if you have thick fields the cost will be lower per bale. I have 5 acres done this way. Last year 1st cut made 275 bales, so about $262 or, close to dollar a bale. I would be more worried about them making good hay for you.
