Rice Harvesting in the 50's

Anyone out there familiar with rice harvesting as it was done in the 50's? I'm curious to know what JD equipment was used (12A,25 ,30??). I thought maybe that a pull type combine could have been used for harvesting. Or was a binder in common practice? I know once the self propelled combines came out Those wre used.
