Get yourself a childs wading pool. Cut a piece of sheet metal to go around or nearly around the outside of the rim. Put the rim and solution in the pool keeping the rim and metal separated. Keep the amperage as high as possible and you will be pleased with how easy it is to clean the rims. Be sure to dry and treat the rims immediately after the derusting process. I use a product widely used in the marine trade, OSPHO. It is available at ACE hardward and other places. I did one this way about 3 years ago and recently had ocassion to demount the tire. The rim was still in beautiful shape.
