I guess the wheels had the extra spokes so they would take the jolting when driven on hard surfaces. They have at least twice as many spokes. Do you feel much resistance to compression when you crank your tractor. I feel a lot on the 1929 and a little on the one I own, the 1925. You are right about the red being in 1936, thats the information that I have. The guy that has the 1929 swears that when he disassembled it for restoration, it was red in the areas between parts. This part has me confused cause the owner seems like a guy you would want to believe, he has had the tractor for many many years.
