I used to have a 63 cnev. The only way I could fully flush the heater core was to disconnect it from the block and run water thru it one way until it was clear and then the other way till clear, and keep reversing the flow until both ways were clear. Works great. Just helped another guy with this technique on another chat board. He was very happy. The inline flush kits suck for heater cores, I tried that route first. Good luck and keep warm.
