Jim , I had the same problem with an '83 dodge truck I use to have. I was told to switch the hoses on the heater core , because the heater core is probably plugged some. So I tried it. Yes , it made a difference. I had more heat. After some time , it happened again. I switched the hoses again. This time I had heat like you wouldn't believe. It even had gotten too hot at times. Never had another problem with heat in that truck.
