Been frequenting these boards for a long time, and let me first say I'm not trying to pick a fight or start trouble in any way.One of the things I keep seeing popping up is retrofitting power steering to older tractors.I grew up on a farm and power steering was something unheard of in the many years spent there.None of the tractors we ever had,nor trucks, nor family cars ever had power steering until it became almost universal on vehicles in the late 60s,early 70s.I see comments here about not imagining a loader tractor w/o PS.Well,I can say it would be nice, but I've loaded a"million"bucketloads of manure w/o it,stomped a brake thousands of times to correct an errant path, backed up and realigned a few times too.Not that PS isn't one of the greatest accessories to have on a tractor, but life can be lived w/o it.Power steering became vogue on tractors when Mfgs started making them that way and life became easier because of it.And now ya don't learn ta "palm the wheel" on rutted ground,ta keep the spinnin steering wheel or neckers knob from thumpin yer knuckles.Ah,time flies, life gets better, industry improves our lot in life, but I'll stay w/old iron. It's cranky, but we get along well, throbbin knuckles and all....lol

Some of them only bring their noses down out of the air long enough to look down them anyway. If you are like me you are only doing this old tractor stuff because you enjoy it. You
