Hacksaw blades are OK but I find it faster/easier to use an inside pipe wrench. They fit inside the pipe and, when unscrewing, have an eccentric which expands the diameter to give a good grip on the broken nipple. My set has sizes for various pipe. Nothing fancy, from Harbor Freight, has saved me numerous times.
