First thing you should do is figure out what kind of beef you want. Then buy the calf accordingly to what you are expecting the meat to be. Might as well forget your 25 lbs of grain. Even if you could get the animal to eat that much,it would not live very long!! You need to find out about DM intake,along with grain. Probably have trouble getting it to eat wheat anyways. Crack the corn,and add some rolled oats,or rolled mixed grain with it. Main thing is always have plenty of clean water around,and good quality hay at all times. Plan on a minimum of 13%+ protein in your ration. Look at roughly 2.5-3% of body weight as feed daily(hay and grain) The two animals are a good idea. For a few reasons,the main one is that they are social animals.
