To do it well, you're going to make a wet mess and not even have the thermostat in there. You really want to do a backflushing. You can do it well enough with the garden hose, a rag, and a bit of time. Disconnect the radiator from the engine top and bottom. Also remove the thermostat from the engine (or hose if that's where it is on a 800 series). Stuff the garden hose up the bottom radiator hose, wrap the rag around the mess to keep the leaks to a minimum, and let'r rip until sparkling clear water is coming out the top of the radiator. Do the same with the engine. On a vehicle at home, include the heater core in this. Then, and only then, should you add a flushing agent of you're determined to use one. Repeat the rinse after using the flushing agent. Flushing agents don't react nicely with antifreeze, you need to have things flushed clean before adding the flush, and before refilling with antifreeze, or you'll have more damage then when you started.
