400G dozer

Can anyone tell me why John Deere only made the 400g dozer for a few years back around 1990? In theory, this sounds like an perfect little dozer for the farm. The research I have find is they renamed the 350 to the 400. I'm wondering if they made the body heavier and used the same size engine. When a company discontinues a product after a few years usually there is problems.......Am I being paranoind!! Any information would be helpful....rick
