Case was big on the hand clutches also. Farmall row crops and McCormick standards were available with hand clutches as an option. Rice Field models were equipped with hand clutches because I think the operator usually stood up. I don't know when Case switched over to the foot clutch or the option availability on those either. I think part of the reason for a hand clutch on the JD 2-cylinders was the fact that the engine sat crossways in the frame instead of inline. Given the location and design of the clutch I don't know if a foot clutch would work. Just my thoughts.
