I brought up the google search engine, typed in "dictionary" and went to the first one that popped up (www.dictionary.com). Typed in "motor" and this is the result:

So, all engines are motors, but not all motors are engines. To call a diesel engine a "motor" is perfectly correct. But it is not correct to call an electric motor an "engine"...
