Ah! someone else finally distinguishes between a motor and an engine. You are right of course. Motors get their energy from a remote location, electric motor, hydraulic motor, etc. engines are self contained and burn the fuel at the point where the work is done. As in steam engine, gas/diesel engine, etc. I am amazed at the number of people who confuse these concepts, some of them quite good machanics too. Not a big deal but interesting.
