DOT3 and DOT4 are SAE J1703 non-petroluem brake fluid. The "vegatable oil" thing is basicly telling you not to use any petroluem based oils/fluids. DOT5 is synthetic fluid. I tried it in my Harley Davidson and it got weird gummy when it got old so I went back to DOT3. DOT4 is "premium" brake fluid.
