I had a bad accident with a trailer that had surge breaks. The trailer was loaded tail heavy( my fault). I started down a hill and the trailer started pushing me. The trailer started whipping on me and when I touched the brakes, that just aggrivated the situation. It finally got out of control and flipped over with a Case DC tractor on it. Didn't do the trailer or the tractor ( now a parts tractor) any good. It was my own stupidity that created the situation, but if I would have had electric brakes that I could have applied braking power to the trailer wheels, I could have stopped the whole mess. I will never use surge brakes again. To me electric has it all over surge. By the way when the trailer left the road it turned my 3/4 ton Ford about 135 degrees in the road, just lucky that it didn't roll on me. It sure made me clean out my shorts though. Just my 2 cents worth. Dan
