Gene - Punch below and you'll wind up on my diagrams page. Ted - I'm not familiar with Case electrics.. However if the electrics were provided by Delco they're probably identical to Farmall electrics of that era. Assuming the above is true, then the wire from the A terminal of the generator is the current output. It should go to the cutout relay and then to the ammeter. The other wire will run from the generator F terminal to the light switch. That's the field wire. When the light switch is in the "low charge" position, it inserts a resistance of several ohms into the field circuit. In the other postions (high charge, dim lights and bright lights) the switch shorts the field circuit directly to ground. In order for the generator to work correctly, the light switch has to be functional, and the switch body must be solidly grounded. Hope this makes sense...
