How to learn about running/repairing tractors?

I need to know how to keep a Ford 860 with attached front end loader running and how to repair it when it doesn't. They didn't let girls take "shop" classes back in the early 60's and I know very little about engines or mechanical stuff. I have manuals but I don't understand a lot of what they're saying.

I would like to find some basic books on this subject (I have learned other mechanical skills from books). I could use pointers on operating the tractor and use of implements also.
I am a working farmer and have gotten large enough to be unable to get by without the tractor.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
