Narrow fronts are not inherently tippy. Wide fronts, of course, are by nature more stable but the degree depends on how high a center of gravity you have and the pitch or the land. Larger tractors (those too big for 5 acres) are apt to have higher COGs, and older tractors will be higher than newer ones. I know Farmalls so can talk about them. A Cub or A (both woide fronts, no choice) with a belly mower would be a good size. A B or BN would give you the same tractor as an A with the narrow front, which should require no more than the usual prudence and care to operate on the kind of terrain you describe. There are also some of the smaller Cases and Allises that may suit your needs and have the narrow front that appeals to you. One of the Ford Ns might do the job, but they are all wide fronts.
