No problem, Steven. I agree with you and I always let an engine cool down after running it, whether it be mine or a customers, a chainsaw or a tractor. Hot shut-offs and cold-starts are responsible for 90% of the wear an engine ever receives. Some people just don't realize that the two or three extra minutes are worth it in the long run. I've never been around any of the gas start/diesel run Farmalls, but have always been intriqued by them. I understand that they could be switched over after the engine had run 900 revolutions on gasoline. Was there some type of device to count revolutions or otherwise prevent switching to diesel before those revolutions were completed? I should get a service manual for on of those and probe it's secrets more thoroughly, I guess.
