M Farmall Hydraulics

I purchased a M-Farmall about 10 years ago& have kept in the barn. Recently got running & have put on a 3 Pt. hitch, but seems the hydraulics don't work. How can I test, & does the tractor have to be split apart to get the pump out?? Please advise. Thanks Larry
