Had a rear-engined Snapper for years (it was my grandfather's). The thing still runs today, but it needs a ring job. These things are just about the most rugged and simple riding mowers out there. About the only weak point is the friction clutch disc in the drive line. It tends to wear, especially in steep terrain. It is not hard to replace, but we end up replacing it every 2 or 3 years.
