My neighbor has had two late model snapper rear engine riders, and it gave him no problems. It gives an excellent cut, which rivals my lawn boy 2cycle push mowers. My friend had an older snapper rider (picked up at a tag sale for $150, and it runs strong with no problems other than a belt replacement, (original from the early 80's). After seeing my neighbors progress, I looked at the snapper rear engine at Wal Mart. They also have a MTD or other look alike. The only thing that I did not like was the lack of grease fittings on the front axle spindles, but the sleeves look simple to replace. This doesn't make sense, but my reason for not buying one, is that I would want to be different from my neighbor. I was just at a local Wal Mart (CT), and there were none in stock. Good Luck.
