Slip clutch maintenance - Howard rotovator

I just bought a Howard rotovator. It has a double disk slip clutch. Never having any experience with this type of equipment, I am not sure of the best way to maintain it and be confident it will work when needed. I have taken it all apart and cleaned everything but not sure about re-assembly. Does it go together dry or is there some type of lubricant that should be used? I hear so many guys have trouble will clutch dics sticking to flywheel and pressure plates, that I am wondering if this type of clutch might freeze up and not give the driveline the protection it should. Short of taking it apart frequently and cleaning it, what is the best way to maintain this clutch so it will work when needed?
