You can jump it with 12v but if it has been sitting for 3 years,that 6v battery is beyond dead. Best thing to do is just put the 12v battery in it but dont hook up the ground cable..check, it could be pos. grounded...Get it ready to start (starting fluid if you got it)....put the groudd cable on and have some one hit the start button....caution...don't crank the starter to long at a time....12v can damage the starter if you crank it to long.....put your hand on the starter if its hot let it cool.....
