Take alook at this website and it'll explain hydraulic circuits. If the tractor is new to you I would go over the conections and circuit flow as you don't know what past "repairman" have changed.

I bought a loader/hoe a couple years ago and just today caught why larger front tires will not work on this tractor. It makes the oil level higher at the differential and starves the pump after the tractor is warm.
