HELP ! Problem with Allis Chalmers tractor- Please help...

Help! Have a Allis Chalmers tractor B. The rear tire broke off. Question: how does one seperate the hub shaft from the lower gear. Is it presses on or screwed on. We tried pounding and pressing the shaft out of the gear, and no luck. What do
we do. Please if you have any suggestions please help. Thank you for any help,
