need advise re type of tractor

Hello. Always wanted a tractor, now I got some land for one. I don't have any experience but could use some advise -- what type, or size tractor do I need for doing some planting on a field around 5 acres in size. I suspect that everyone has their own favorites, but I don't want to go too big or worse, too small. thanks for any ideas. Eric
