another way,IF you have room is to put a 1/16"to 3/32"thick shim ring bhind seal so the seal rides on a different area of axle.is cheap & works(a proper sized snapring works good.it needs to be same size as od of seal)...this works so well that a few seal companies even make some offset seals for more popular stuff...
