Axle repair, groove

I have my final drive torn down on my Oliver
Super 55 to replace seals and bearings. The
axles each have a slight groove where either
the bearing or seal must have gotten grit or
rust on it and wore a slght groove. What is a
good repair for this. I have heard of spray
welding, and even seem to remember some
guys using JB Weld on such repairs. This is
my first restorationa and would like to hear
opinions. Thanks for any advice.
