Got a Long 350 that has recently become difficult to start. With a fully charged battery and sufficient priming from the primer, the engine just spins and will not crank. However, when primed with ether directly into the air intake, it will start right away. Also, it pull cranks quite easily when towed behind a truck - without any priming. Once it is started, the engine seems to run strong with no performance problems. Once the engine is warmed up, it will crank with the starter SOMETIMES. Any suggestions on what may be causing this hard starting? I am thinking of changing the fuel filters to begin with. Also, I have noticed the injectors are slightly wet with diesel on their outside after the engine has run for a while. Could this be the cause of the hard starting? Leaking? Any help is appreciated.
