Our local farm stores used to sell a fender mount, weather proof all transistor radio. It had control switches under a cover on the back that allowed you to set the radio for 6V or 12V Pos or neg ground. If these radios are no longer avalible,You should be able to get a DC power converter at an electronics store. I installed a lot of these when CB radios were all the rage. They are a little box that converts 6V pos or neg ground to 12V pos or neg ground. to allow you to use any modern radio.
