The clutch job is do-able with a couple of floor jacks and a good concrete floor, but it is not a super easy job that you can do in an hour or two. You have to take the tractor apart quite a bit to do the job and splitting the tractor can be dangerous if not done right. I would suggest a search on the Ford board, as clutch jobs have been discussed by people who can probably explain what is necessary better than I can. If you ask at a New Holland dealer for the I&T manual, they will know what you are talking about. I never thought about what I&T means, but I think it is a brand name. I&T makes manuals for other tractors too. The manual for your Ford is a good one, easily worth the $25 to $30 it costs. It will answer many of your questions and has lots of photos and diagrams. Would I have the New Holland dealer split the tractor to release the clutch? No, because I know I can do the job and do it safely for a lot less money and hassle than hauling a non-working tractor to their shop and having them do it. But you might get lucky and find the clutch free. It just is bad to discover that problem the hard way. I would suggest checking it out before making plans to take it to the dealer. And if you have to rebuild the engine, you have to split the tractor anyway. Good luck with the project!
