Rule of thumb was (I think)originally a law that said that you couldn't beat your wife with a stick that was larger than your thumb. I think same law applies to tractors as in the case of buying one sight unseen. (grin) It would be a good idea to ask former owner what kind of oil he used in this machine. You might find out he just changed it before he sold it. Most generally if I pull the dipstick on one and it is real dirty - I score negative for this. It don't cost much to ask. If you do this, be sure to ask if he used detergent or non-detergent oil. Fred
