Start mowing using a slow gear. When you become familar with the tractor and its behavior you may wish to increase ground speed, but remember- the faster your travel the more likely you are to run into trouble before you can react. 1,500 engine RPM is approx. 545 PTO RPM using engine PTO speed selection; about 2/3 throttle if your tach. isn't working. You may back a pull type brush hog up ramps onto concrete block platforms under each wheel to gain access to the blades for removal and sharpening if an access hole is not available in the deck to remove the bolts. I sharpen my blades with my angle grinder to about 30-35 degrees, it's quick and simple. measure the blade width after sharpening to get within reasonably equal weight for both to minimize vibration and stress on the gearbox. I wouldn't attempt to cut brush without a slip clutch on the PTO shaft to avoid damaging the tractor.
