Galvanized funnel for diesel?

My tractor owners manual (David Brown from England) says do not pour diesel through a galvanized funnel because zinc will get in the fuel. Anyone have any comments on this? It's hard to find a funnel or gas can these days with a fine screen in it that isn't made of galvanized. I saw a posting here not long ago where someone said zinc was a good thing to have in motor oil. How could that be good if zinc in the fuel would be so bad?
