Was looking through a late-arriving Mar/Apr issue of Antique Power Magazine and believe it or not, there was an Allis Chalmers 1952 model CA that sold at the famous Barret-Jackson collector car auction in Scottsdale Arizona in January. It was an ultra-restoration with even all the castings ground smooth like a babies bum before what looked like 25 coats of Persian Orange paint. It sold for $25000 US plus an 8% buyer's fee, can you believe that? Just shows you what kind of money those antique car guys have jingling around in their pocket. Believe it or not, the restorer painted the wheels the wrong color. Front wheels black and rear rims black (instead of orange fronts and silver rear rims), at least the article said it was wrong.
