A buddy of mine built a pole barn shop and didn't think he could afford a concrete floor. So he used it with gravel, and like most buildings, filled it up. Even though he later had the funds to do a proper concrete floor, it was always too much trouble to move everything out and put his shop out of commission for a while. He hated the gravel floor and finally sold the place. His advice to me was if I could only afford a building or a concrete floor, pour the floor, and then build the building over it. He was not kidding a bit!
