pto shaft to short

I bought a Ford 501 14-92 sickle bar mower from a man for$100.00 rusty but in fair condtion.It was used on a ford red belly and the pto shaft has been cut and is to short to reach my pto shaft on my tractor whice is a 240 MF.Would like some thoughts on best way to fix this promlem.New shaft,adapter?,have welding shop and more length,etc.Also was wondering if this was a good price and are parts still avaible for this mower?
