Iagree with Dell.Iwould never attempt to weld a crack without drilling both ends because most of the time the crack will run and you could chase the thing on and on.Also prefer a good brazed repair over J-B epoxy metal combo.If you go to a good weld shop ask to have the crack (DYE Checked).This will tell you where the end of the crack really is.Then drill.SPOT CHECK is trade name of the DYE System .all welding supply co. stock the stuff.If you did not see the crack until you cleaned the piece maybe your supplier also missed it.
